I’ve created this page as a simple quick-reference guide to help you stay informed and have your say on the decisions that matter to our community. After the election, I’ll keep you updated on what’s happening, point you toward relevant information on the City’s website, and invite you to share your thoughts and feedback with me directly.
Community Engagement
The City recently updated its website and has added some great features. Check out this link, Council Decision Tracker | City of Colwood, to have quick access to the decisions Council is making. It’s still under development, so let me know if there are any improvements you’d like to see. Message me at jpcolwood@jenniferparlee.ca
The Let's Talk Colwood site is a great way to provide your input on important projects. You’ll be given an opportunity to have your voice heard by staff to help them make recommendations to Council. It can feel uncomfortable to register your information, but this ensures residents’ voices are heard the loudest and that only one submission per person can be entered.
You can also submit an Action Request | City of Colwood to ask for help from the City on any specific issues.
Transportation
The Transportation Master Plan (TMP) and the Parks & Recreation Master Plan address how to move drivers, cyclists and pedestrians in and out and around Colwood. The new Council will be responsible for updating the TMP which will predict our transportation needs for the next 25 years. We will need to make our main routes bigger, but before we can get there, some basic decisions need to be made.

This provides the cost and work details. I’m concerned about the difference in cost between the two scenarios.
Building Development

The Official Community Plan is due to be updated. This document sets the rules for all projects to be completed in our city over the next several years.
Colwood Clinic
I’m so proud of our Colwood Clinic. Council will be deciding whether to add Nurse Practitioners to the Clinic which is a move that I will support. Nurse Practitioners can help ease patient loads.
Are you a resident of Colwood and don’t have a doctor? Go to the Provincial Health Connect Registry and you’ll be contacted when a space becomes available.
Why Vote?
City councillor’s make decisions that affect our everyday lives.
Council decides what kinds of buildings are approved, what recreation opportunities are available, and how our roads are designed.
Council can also help address climate change at the local level by protecting and creating green spaces, supporting active transportation networks, and advocating for improved transit options.

Do you feel like there’s too many candidates to remember?

You can vote for up to six candidates, and you’re welcome to write down your choices ahead of time and bring that list with you when you vote.
