  • Helped with the initial planning of Esquimalt’s 100th Anniversary Celebration.

  • Stepped into the role of chairing the meetings during my time on the committee. I did not complete the project because I moved to a new community.

2006 – 2008

  • Followed Council’s direction to implement programs related to municipal parks, the recreation centre and ice rink, and community events. 

  • As a Commissioner, I reviewed and advised on the Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan and supplemental budget.

  • Instrumental in creating a playgrounds review committee to emphasize importance of regular maintenance of the community’s play spaces.

  • Participated in the transition from Commission to Committee.

1995 – 2024

  • Sang at Butchart Gardens, downtown businesses, and private residences.

  • Led rehearsals and performances.

  • Recorded 2 CDs and co-produced the second one.

2001 – 2004

  • Transformed basement music studio into a commercial enterprise, taking my place as a fourth-generation small business owner. The business closed for family reasons.

  • Interviewed and hired teachers to ensure that lessons for as many instruments as possible could be offered. Successful candidates were chosen not only for their musical ability, but also for their alignment with the personalized culture of the business.

  • Managed a staff of seven teachers delivering private and group sessions. Created contracts to define ownership of client lists and property.
